Do you remember your first encounter with ceramics? Was it a hobby or a conscious dream of creating a brand?

Yes, I remember it very clearly. In the office where I worked as an architect, we were selecting handmade plates and cups for the cafes and restaurants we designed. For me, design is a whole; we would decide on all the details of the space together, and I was involved in most of the process. Actually, until then, ceramics wasn't a field that particularly interested me. Until one day I saw an intern working at a potter's wheel. I remember feeling a chill run down my spine. I thought to myself, "I have to do this." And that's exactly when my journey with ceramics began.

When we look at your products, we see a very calm, timeless, and natural language. Is this aesthetic a conscious choice, or did it develop spontaneously during the production process?

Actually, it's a conscious choice. Timeless products have always attracted my attention more in design. Instead of rapidly consumed, trend-driven designs, I find it more meaningful to produce objects that can be used for many years, with a simple and natural aesthetic. Therefore, minimalist forms, natural textures, and a calm aesthetic are prioritized in my products. My aim is to create pieces that are part of everyday life but also gain value with use and connect with the user.

Which piece was the most difficult to produce and why?

Actually, there isn't one single piece I can call "the most difficult." However, certain stages of some designs can be challenging. In ceramics, there's a very delicate balance between creating the form, the drying process, firing, and the final result. Sometimes even a small detail can make the process more difficult. But these challenges are also the most enjoyable part of production; because every problem brings a new solution and learning process. That's why each piece gives me a different experience.

What are the advantages and disadvantages of sticking to handmade production instead of mass production?

The biggest advantage of handmade production is that each piece has its own unique character. Small differences actually create the soul of the product and make it unique. Also, you can establish a closer relationship with the design during the production process, and you can intervene and improve the product when necessary. On the disadvantage side, the production process is slower, and it's not always possible to replicate the same product exactly. However, for me, this is actually one of the most valuable aspects of the job; because each piece is truly unique and one-of-a-kind.

The visuals on your page have a very soft, natural, and editorial feel. Did you follow a professional visual strategy when creating the brand identity?

Yes, when creating the brand identity, I considered the visual language to be at least as important as the product design. I try to create a simple and natural atmosphere that reflects the spirit of the products. I prefer to create a narrative language where the product is in the foreground by using soft tones, natural light, and minimalist compositions. In this way, both the calm and timeless character of the brand is preserved, and the texture and form of the products are felt more strongly.

If we asked you to describe Loop in three words, what would they be?

Timeless, minimalist, and original. These three words mean a lot to me when describing Loop. I try to create a brand language that is independent of trends, simple but has character, and where the handiwork is felt in every piece.

What was the most difficult aspect of establishing a handmade ceramics brand in Turkey?

One of the most difficult aspects was being able to correctly convey the value of handmade production. Because behind a handcrafted piece lies significant time, experience, and effort. Showing this process and the difference to people can sometimes be challenging.

What realistic advice would you give to young women entrepreneurs?

To be patient and trust in their own path. Building a brand requires time, effort, and consistency. It's not possible for everything to happen immediately, but as you work regularly and continue to produce, the process finds its own way. Most importantly, instead of comparing yourself to others, focus on your own story and truly believe in what you do.

How would you complete the sentence that begins with "Loop is actually..."?

Loop is actually a brand born from the idea of adding small but meaningful touches to everyday life with simple forms and natural textures. It aims to produce objects where each piece is handcrafted, gains character with use, and establishes a connection with the user.
