Kerem Yiğit

Kerem Yiğit is a student in the Painting Department at Mimar Sinan Fine Arts University and a young artist engaged in contemporary art production. His artistic practice is based on the variability of daily life, time, and space.

In each work, Yiğit explores both an individual quest and a shared experience. His habit of keeping a sketchbook is not merely a technical process for him; the practice of capturing moments and observing the flow of time is a cornerstone of his production. This habit gives his works both formal and conceptual consistency. While addressing the fundamental issues of painting through form, volume, and depth, Yiğit constructs his own unique language by establishing connections with art history and composition. In his recent works, the artist focuses on the surface of the paper, using collage techniques to deeply explore the concepts of fragmentation, undulation, and layering. The cutting, reassembly, and creation of spatial effects through layers of paper is a process in his production practice where form and meaning intertwine.
